Yes, even building brewery equipment (albeit the beer) can start in one’s garage.

So it was for Kevin J. Weaver, President and Owner of Brewmation in Hopewell Junction NY.

Over 10 years ago, Kevin began building fully automated brewing systems in his garage.  Of course, he was a home brewer himself enjoying the fruits (and brews) of his labor of love in addition to being gainfully employed as the VP of Sales and Engineering for a Swiss Electronics Company.

About four years ago, Kevin decided to “take the plunge” and make Brewmation a full time endeavor. Initially, Kevin built the control panels and partnered with tank builders Stout Tanks and Kettles who built to his specifications.  Together, these two companies began selling automated systems to Brew Houses.  After moving the business out of his garage, Kevin rented space in Fishkill and then broke ground in September of 2016 on his current facility in Hopewell Junction.  Today, Brewmation employs 11 people and offers turnkey electric or steam brewing systems from 1/2bbl up to 20bbl in size.  Their solutions are designed to be flexible to suit the needs of the business plan, the brewer, and the building.
