Maggie Roff spent over 12 years in the retail arena starting as a part time cashier after school to becoming the full time bookkeeper. After 2 years, she entered a Management Training Program which led to Assistant and Management rolls in the Supermarket industry. Two years later, she advanced to become the trouble shooter for the opening of several new stores, taking the lead roll implementing those openings. Maggie’s involvement included store planning, product layout, vendor negotiations, inventory ordering, hiring, training, and scheduling incumbent staff for each department. After all stores were up and running smoothly, Maggie was promoted to District Manager for seven retail supermarkets, following up and overseeing each location on a daily and weekly basis.
In the early 90’s Ms. Roff also worked as a Para Professional for the New York City School System. Maggie started as a Substitute Para working with Special Education students. Once hired full time, she worked closely with teachers for Kindergarten and First grade students assisting in all aspects of student learning. Ms. Roff also worked with students on an individual basis as needed for optimum educational growth. Maggie created work plans and curriculum as well as monitored and reported on the student’s progress.
Maggie entered the Hospital arena where she worked for 13 years, starting as a Unit Clerk for 3 Pediatric and ICU units. A year later she advanced to Direct Assistant for the Administrator, working closely to Manage a department of Secretarial and Nursing staff, as well as making sure patients and their family’s needs were met. Then Ms. Roff was promoted to Executive Assistant to the Medical Director and Senior Hospital Administrator working alongside both to ensure efficient staff to patient care ratio was met. After relocating her residence from the Bronx to Fishkill in 2004, Ms. Roff joined MTEC in May of 2005 as their Office Support Administrator. Her experienced background in both the medical environment and private sector retail management made her a good fit for MTEC. Ms. Roff has been the liaison for consumers and patients, and related staff in every aspect of her career, which has continued here at MTEC. As MTEC’s Office Support Administrator, she developed workflows for its user friendly operation along with providing guidance and training to various staff employees. She has taken on telemarketing to develop new business for MTEC with very positive results, and continues to provide training for incumbent employees in this area. In the past, Maggie organized HVTDC’s business and social events. When MTEC decided to relocate the business office from Fishkill to Newburgh, NY, Ms. Roff headed this up as the lead coordinator for the entire relocation project.
Maggie is the go to person for many projects, and continues to take on the lead role in aiding in the facilitation of simulation activities at client projects as well as direct consulting with client projects. In August 2014, Maggie was transferred to the Sales Department and promoted to the position of Account Manager. She interacts with many manufacturing clients, regularly meeting business owners in the seven counties of the Hudson Valley. Ms. Roff assists clients with realizing their needs for improvements in several areas of their business.
In her spare time, Maggie enjoys traveling with her husband, reading, music, and sports.
