The Manufacturing and Technology Enterprise Center (MTEC) has been a long standing pillar of support and progression in Westchester County. Formerly known as the Hudson Valley Technology Development Center (HVTDC), we are excited to reintroduce ourselves under our DBA, MTEC, to the manufacturing and business community of Westchester.
At MTEC, our core values of excellence, collaboration, and advancement remain unchanged. We continue to be a trusted partner for businesses navigating the dynamic realms of manufacturing and technology, offering strategic solutions and unwavering support for businesses in the Hudson Valley.
Who Is MTEC?
The Manufacturing and Technology Enterprise Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering productivity and growth within the manufacturing and technology sectors. By providing a range of services and resources, MTEC helps businesses streamline their operations, enhance their technological capabilities, and thrive in an increasingly competitive market. MTEC is one of the 11 New York Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NYMEP) centers, which is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership, supported by funding from both federal and state sources. These organizations cultivate the growth of high-tech industry and help smaller manufacturers modernize by providing strategic assistance.
How Does MTEC Impact Westchester County?
MTEC is ready to reinvigorate the manufacturing industry in Westchester County by helping businesses win grant funds and getting the expert help that they need to succeed.
To date, MTEC has undertaken numerous initiatives to support local businesses including assisting a materials manufacturer in securing a NYMEP Advanced Materials Grant and providing ISO assistance to manufacturers in the plastics industry and wire fabrication sector with our strategic partner. Moreover, MTEC has been actively involved in helping a commercial baker secure an Industry 4.0 grant for a new software purchase.
Additionally, MTEC has facilitated collaboration between two food and beverage manufacturers to drive new product development. Notably, MTEC has successfully guided two Westchester manufacturers in obtaining a NYMEP Cybersecurity Grant, showcasing their commitment to bolstering cybersecurity measures in the region. These collective endeavors exemplify MTEC’s dedication to fostering innovation, growth, and prosperity within Westchester County. Currently, strategic efforts are underway to support entrepreneurs and promote business growth. Jeffrey Grimshaw, a seasoned Business Development Consultant at MTEC and the Advanced Institute for Manufacturing (AIM), is actively involved in creating a Manufacturing Accelerator program.
